Efficient Hydrogen Storage

The HFI hydrogen storage solution utilises a hydrogen hydride system, which stores hydrogen at twice the volume efficiency of liquid hydrogen and over four times as much as compressed hydrogen gas (at 350 bar). This ensures safe and compact storage, further enhancing the practicality and scalability of our energy system. The stored hydrogen is not under pressure or explosive and can be moved safely, making it ideal for storing large quantities of hydrogen for large industries and electrical and gas grid connectivity.

 

HFI and the University of Bristol, UK have collaborated on the conversion of a hydrogen powered vehicle to demonstrate the advantages of the hydride system for transportation. The converted demonstration vehicle will be the first step towards a large commercial vehicle and heavy equipment installation.
